On the 10th of February 2020, at Moscow Region State University the V International Science Festival dedicated to the day of Russian science was launched.

Within three weeks, the Festival’s guests will participate in scientific conferences, strategic sessions, exhibitions, master classes, scientific quests, open lectures by leading domestic and foreign scientists. For this period the participants will be able to attend more than 60 scientific events held at all MRSU sites.

Andrey Sokolov, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation welcomed the participants at the  opening ceremony of the V International Science Festival.


Acting rector Veronika S. Zapalatskaya addressed the guests of the Festival with a welcome speech. She marked the University’s significant scientific achievements for 2019, thanked the University’s scientists, guests and international partners, and announced the Grand Opening of the Festival.

Famous scientists, academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences, heads of scientific and educational organizations discussed the future of science during the opening ceremony.

As a part of the opening ceremony of the Festival, there were presented videos of the significant achievements of University’s scientists and world scientific developments in 2019. The audience was also shown a chronicle of the Science Festivals in Moscow Region State University.

The ceremony culmination was in the awarding of diplomas to scientists working at MRSU for their significant contribution to the development of science in the Moscow region and Russia. The award “For loyalty to science 2019” was given to the best scientists of the University:

On the opening day of the Festival, a scientific discussion club “Pedagogical science of future: what kind  should It be?”.  Famous scientists discussed important trends in the development of pedagogical science in the era of digitalization of society. The event was attended by a well-known academician of REA Alexander I. Dontsov, REA correspondence member Vladislav V. Serikov, and others.

The exhibition of works by the leading artists, teachers and graduates of the Faculty of fine arts and folk crafts of Moscow Region State University “Communication of generations: traditions, innovations and creative search” presented real masterpieces of art and new artistic ideas in the modern work of famous artists and scientists of the University.

The Central hall of the library hosted a presentation of the achievements of the Moscow region  quantoriums as a part of the all-Russian robotic exhibition “Techno Robo”.

The exhibition-presentation of methods of historical and archival research of the Moscow  Region State University “Life and work of V. E. Meyerhold” allowed visitors to get acquainted with the practice of modern organization of archival exhibitions, documents telling about the life and work of the famous artist, technologies for searching and selecting archival documents of the Moscow region, Oryol and Penza regions. The exhibition was moderated by Vardan Bagdasaryan, Doctor of historical Sciences, Professor, Dean of the faculty of history, political science and law.

The historical and documentary exhibition “MRSU faces” was dedicated to outstanding scientists who worked at MRSU. The exhibition presented exclusive materials of the Central state archive of the Moscow region, telling about the work of University employees, their photos, and some of their scientific works.

On the first day of the V International Science Festival, a panel discussion “Criteria for selecting students in the transition from primary to secondary education (the situation in Russia and Germany)” was held with Honorary professors of the Moscow Region State University-Dr. Helmut Wittmann, member of the Advisory Board of the children’s Time Foundation, Vice-President of the German Association of youth hostels, Deputy Chairman of the Bavarian curator of the German lifesaving society (DLRG); Dr. Bernhard Nagel, psychologist, employee Of the state Institute of preschool education in Munich. The researchers discussed the features of psychological criteria for the transition from primary to secondary education, as well as a comparative analysis of the processes of transition to secondary education in Russia and Germany.

The round table “Legal foundations of security” allowed participants and guests of the Festival to discuss topical issues of modern human security.

On the 10th of  February, as a part of the opening of the V International Festival of Science was prepared the event “Science quest”, aimed at popularizing science among students. Participants were able to personally meet famous scientists from different eras, unravel their secrets and learn interesting facts from their lives. The organizers prepared cases from the field of scientific discoveries.

The round table “Youth, peace and security: looking to the future” included discussions on the most pressing issues of our time: youth ideas for preserving peace, support for youth in preventing and countering extremism, and protection of youth rights. The round table was attended by representatives of the security faculty of the University of Belgrade and the security faculty of the University of Banja Luka.
