One of the priority tasks of the Department for International Students of the International Cooperation Department of MRSU is the social and cultural adaptation of foreign students at our University.
Within the framework of this mission, the Department for International Students conducts the following activities:
⦁ Informational meetings to explain the migration legislation and rules of living in a dormitory. This event is the most important, in our view, where employees of Department for International Students introduce enrolled in our University foreign students with the basic rules of behavior, of stay and residence. These meetings are usually held for small groups of foreign students from the same country. The meeting is always attended by the headman, who explains difficult moments to the children in their native language, in order to avoid misunderstandings and distortion of the information.

⦁ Excursions for foreign students of MRSU around the cities of Russia. The Department for International Students organizes cultural leisure for foreign students of MRSU. The students, accompanied by the staff of the international cooperation Department of MRSU, travel to nearby cities of the Moscow region, improve their language skills, as the tours are conducted in Russian, find new friends, learn the culture and traditions of Russia. Excursion trips allow students to overcome the language barrier when communicating with University staff, as on the way, on the bus, there is an opportunity to communicate in an informal setting, which further helps our students to avoid feelings of anxiety and excitement when communicating in a business environment in Russian.

The Department for International Students also organizes specialized, thematic excursions for students studying at the faculty of Russian Philology. Our students visit the Yasnaya Polyana Museum-estate of the great Russian writer Lev Tolstoy, which allows them to “touch history”, walk through the places where Lev Tolstoy created his works. According to the student’s feedback, this tour helps them in the process of their education, such an off-site training session encourages them to learn Russian even more, the language used for writing world-famous works of Russian literature. Later many students choose the works of Lev Nikolaevich for writing their creative and graduate works.

As we all know, this week finishes with the burning of Shrovetide and drinking tea with pancakes. At this time, all students of MRSU are happy with the arrival of spring and enjoy spending time in the courtyard of the University, communicating with each other and warming themselves with the first warm rays of the spring sun.
