On November 24, Moscow Region State University will host the V All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference “Current issues and trends in the development of STEM- education in the educational system of the Moscow region”.

The conference is held by MRSU jointly with the Association of Teachers of the Moscow region “Teachers of Technological Education” and the universities of Nizhny Novgorod and Elabuga. Its participants will be teachers of preschool institutions, educational centers, schools of the Moscow region and university students.

Maxim Koretsky, President of the Association, Head of the Department of Modern Industrial Technologies, Robotics and Computer Graphics, commented:

“STEM- education is one of the most relevant modern trends. This abbreviation consists of four components: s (science) – science, t– technology, e-engineering, m-mathematics. It is these competencies that holders of STEM professions related to innovative technological entrepreneurship should possess. These are professions in the field of IT technologies and robotics. Specialists formulate problems, develop technical solutions to them, and create start-ups. It is necessary to form a special STEM-thinking: critical, technical, creative. Moreover, you need to start from kindergarten, and improve your skills in the university.”

The conference participants will share their experience in organizing STEM-education models within the framework of scientific and methodological seminars, master classes. The meeting will also include an online exhibition of students’ works in the areas of “Traditional materials processing technologies” and “Robotic Systems”.
