On the 5th of August 2019, two Summer schools for foreign citizens began their work at Moscow Region State University: “Modern Russian language – 2019” and “Geography today: research trends in development”
“Modern Russian language – 2019” is a Russian language school that has been held in Moscow Region State University for more than 10 years. This year, citizens of China and Germany join it. The school was opened by the Head of the International Cooperation Department Svetlana V. Tonsheva, teachers of Russian as a foreign language Olga G. Arapova and Alexander V. Shmelev.

At the end of the opening ceremony, students got acquainted with the school program and passed a test. Thanks to the results students were into groups depending on the level of proficiency in Russian.
The training will last 3 weeks and during this time students will immerse themselves in the language atmosphere, will intensively learn Russian and get acquainted with the culture of Russia.

A fascinating and informative excursion program in Moscow and the Moscow region is also prepared for the participants. They will visit: a sightseeing tour of Moscow, the State Tretyakov Art Gallery, the museum “Kolomenskoye”, the Kremlin, Alexander garden, Manezhnaya Square, the “Zaryadye” park, the museum “Tsaritsyno”, Sergiev Posad, boat-trip on the Moscow River.

Within the framework of this school, participants will have a rich educational and cultural program, including: a sightseeing tour of Moscow, educational tours of the Moscow region, a visit to the Valdaysky National Park, where students will spend 6 days, during this time it is planned to visit the sedimentary landfill, weather station “Valdai”, visit the Museum of hydrological devices, measurements on the Valdai verticals (lake Valdai and lake Uzhin). There is also planned the visit of the Valdai river, the Iversky monastery, the village of Taiga, the ecological trail “Forest secrets”, the river Polometi and measure its speed, visit the Museum of Bells and the Museum of the County town.
