The world, European and Russian luge champion Victoria Demchenko is studying at the magistracy of the Faculty of Physical Culture of Moscow Region State University and regularly pleases fans with victories at Russian and international competitions. The daughter of the famous Russian luge rider Albert Demchenko does not count medals. Athletes don’t do that. Every competition is a new challenge. As well as the excitement and desire to set a new record.

The famous athlete chose Moscow Region State University not by chance. The Faculty of Physical Culture of Moscow Region State University has been producing renowned coaches and champions for 75 years.

— We have a person in our team who has been studying at Moscow Region State University since the 1st year of bachelor’s degree, – said Victoria. – He actively advised everyone who enters our university, especially the master’s program, that MRSU is a cool university where you can realize yourself both in studies and in sports. I chose the Faculty of Physical Education precisely on his advice.

The best example for a 25-year-old athlete is her father Albert Demchenko. The winner and medalist of the Olympic Games, World and European Championships finished his professional career, but became the main assistant to his daughter:

— He has tremendous experience, – says Victoria, – he rode a modern sled and understands what it is, in terms of mechanics, he helps me a lot, collects the sled, makes sharpening. Like no one else, it helps in general on the track.

Victoria Demchenko followed in her father’s footsteps. She has been in luge for more than 7 years. Since 2013, the athlete has been playing for the main Russian national team. Champion in the team relay of the European Championship and the 6th stage of the World Cup (2021), two-time bronze medalist of the European Championships (2020, 2021) and the World Championships (2020), champion of Russia-2021, master of sports of international class.

— I consider my biggest achievement to be the 3rd place in the overall World Cup standings. The overall standings are several races throughout the season. The more stable you are, the more chances you have to win. The season before last turned out to be very good, very stable and we managed to climb to the podium. I am proud that I have always been in the top six on every track.

Training camps, trainings, competitions. Victoria Demchenko is almost impossible to find in Russia – what can we say about the university! She is always waiting for a meeting with the teachers of the Faculty of Physical Culture, her like-minded people. So, one more of our famous luge rider, Vsevolod Kashkin, is studying at the faculty:

-The teaching staff at the faculty is very strong, these are worthy specialists who are able to grow strong coaches, strong mentors, strong physical education teachers. I congratulate our faculty on

its 75th anniversary! I want to wish it development, more new teachers, first-class specialists, and, of course, more excellent students!
